Head Coach Chan Gailey
On if he’s happy with how the team bounced back from last week’s loss…
I’ve always been impressed with the character of our football team.  You know that.  I never questioned that.  However, I think one of the biggest things about the game today is today is lack of discipline and that’s my responsibility.  I’ve got to get that straightened out or we’re going to kill ourselves in the long run.  We’ve got to play with that kind of emotion without the dumb penalties.

On the Stevie Johnson’s excessive celebration penalty…
I didn’t even see it. I have no idea what happened. I just know there was a penalty.  I have no idea what happened.  Somebody said he layed on the field. You can’t lay down on the field. I don’t know what happened. I just went and talked to him and (said), ‘You can’t do that stuff. It costs the team. It’s wild.’

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick
On the game as a whole…
We finally played better today. We didn’t play well enough obviously with the loss. They scored at the end and went ahead and we legitimately had four chances to get it in the end zone. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make the plays and it hurts. It hurts really bad right now. You never like to lose, but these close ones usually hurt the most.

On Stevie Johnson’s drop on the last possession…
I didn’t see it. I got hit and was on the ground. I’m not really sure what happened on it, but it was a play that me and him drew up in the dirt basically. In the huddle, I told him where to line up and what to do. It was nothing we’ve ever really run or practiced before.

On the pass to Brad Smith on the last possession…
It was close. I thought he did a great job stepping in there today. He had a great week of practice. He’s a good wide receiver. He hasn’t had a lot of game reps so to step in there and do what he did – he’s a big target and smart player – the touchdown catch especially, he just did a great job today. That one was close. It was a jump ball in the end zone and unfortunately we couldn’t come down with it.

WR Stevie Johnson
On regretting the penalty from the Touchdown…
Most definitely. It hurt our team.  It was very stupid of me going through that and I feel like I cost our team the win by doing that.  It was a bad decision.  It’s irrelevant whether or not I rehearsed it or not.  At the end of the day, it cost our team seven points. I have to apologize to everyone and talk to coach. I can’t be doing that. I need to be mature about the situation.

On the coach saying he needs to help him with decision making…
We’re all human. If we aren’t learning, what’s the point of living? I’m always willing to learn something from coach whether it be decision making, blocking, how to run a hitch route. I’m always willing to learn something. I’m going to have my ear to him all the time, he’s my coach. I’m all for it I’m not going to take that in a negative way.

WR Brad Smith

On his touchdown reception…
On the pass, [Antonio] Cromartie was in great position. I tried to use a double move on him and he stayed back.  [Ryan] Fitzpatrick put it up and I was actually reaching to knock it down, some how the ball was tipped up and I saw if floating.
