Bills head coach Chan Gailey has not confirmed whether or not Demetrius Bell will make his first start at left tackle since Week 4, but left the door open. Bell did work with the starting unit in practice Wednesday and indicated he’s got the green light.
“They said they’re going to give me a shot so I hope so,” said Bell when asked if he’s starting this week against Miami.
Bell played 20 snaps against the Chargers last Sunday in rotational duty and performed well. It was the first action he had seen since Week 4 when he sustained a shoulder injury that turned out to be more serious than some might have thought.
“It was a fractured collar bone and so I just had to let it heal,” said Bell. “I was out 6-8 weeks.”
