With Logan Mankins injured and Matt Light unable to play last Saturday in New England’s win over the Dolphins, the Patriots have made a roster move perhaps to provide an opening to add an offensive lineman.
The Patriots announced that DB Ross Ventrone has been released. In addition, the Patriots released DL Cedric McKinley from the practice squad.
Mankins suffered a knee injury when Dolphins DE Jared Odrick rolled up on his leg on a play and he did not return.
Light meanwhile was a late scratch for Saturday’s game against Miami after reportedly re-aggravating an ankle injury in warmups. He was replaced by rookie Nate Solder.
