Alabama pass rusher Courtney Upshaw never said he would run when he spoke with the media on Saturday at the NFL Combine. Now here on workout day for the defensive linemen and linebackers he has chosen not to run in the 40.
“I’m eager to go do the linebacker drills and showcase those drills and execute those drills,” he said. “I’m a competitor and
I’m ready to compete.”
But Upshaw chose to stay in his sweats and will obviously run the 40 at his pro day in Tuscaloosa on March 7th. It’s expected that Upshaw will do the linebacker position drills as he tries to display the versatility to play OLB in a 3-4 in addition to being a DE in a 4-3.
