QUOTE OF THE DAY
Bills GM Buddy Nix – On if there is a need to improve the defense via the Draft — from this morning’s interview with The Howard Simon Show
“That’s what Dave (Wannstedt) coaches and he’s right, anytime you finish 26th in defense you obviously got work to do. That is a concentration for us but we cannot make it happen if it’s not there and that’s the thing you’ve got to keep in mind. If we go in and say we got to have a pass rusher and we reach down and get one at the 10th pick that we got graded in the third round then we’re setting ourselves back three or four years. And I can name some names where it’s happened here and it’s happened everywhere. You’ve got to be disciplined enough that you stay within the integrity of all of the work of 15 or 20 people that have done for a year and you don’t get excited by having to try to fill a need with a player that can’t play.”
