The Bills have had trouble finishing seasons strong in recent years and it’s inevitably taken them out of playoff contention. This year however, the schedule is very favorable for the team to make a good run late in the 2012 campaign.
First, counting the Toronto game, Buffalo hosts four of their last five games.
Second, they’ll be facing a warm weather club on Dec. 2nd (Jacksonville) and a dome team on Dec. 9th (St. Louis) at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Third, the combined record of the four teams they face at home in the final month of the regular season from 2011 is 22-42. The team with the best record was the Jets (8-8). Every other club was under .500.
Furthermore two of the teams (Jacksonville, St. Louis) will have first-year head coaches. Even the road game in December (12/23) is at Miami against another club with a first-year head coach. Granted, teams change for the better every year, but if that isn’t an opportunity to roll up some ‘W’s late in the season I don’t know what is.
