THIS DAY IN NFL HISTORY
April 25, 1974 — NFL ADDS OVERTIME
In an effort to rid the league of ties, the NFL approved the addition of one sudden-death period. The league also approved several other rules changes, including moving the goal posts from the goal line to the end line; moving kickoffs back to the 35-yard line; and reducing the penalties for holding, tripping, and illegal use of hands from 15 to 10 yards.

QUOTES OF THE DAY
LT Chris Hairston
On reaching his full potential this season:
“I think it all comes to how hard are you willing to work and this year I want to take full advantage of what I am able to do here in the offseason with all of these facilities at hand,” Hairston told Buffalobills.com. “I’m trying to make the biggest jump that I possibly can and I want to be the best player that I can be. Whether that is a swing tackle or whether that’s being a solidified starter I want to be the best guy that I can be. Hopefully, I can use this offseason to become that.”
