BDC 9/21: Bills Travel to Cleveland

Posted by Bills Daily Charge on September 21, 2012 – 9:42 am

–The Buffalo Bills will make their shortest road trip of the 2012 regular season this weekend for a 1:00PM kickoff at the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Sunday’s game will be the 17th regular season meeting between the two teams. With a win over the Browns the Bills will post back-to-back wins over Cleveland for the second time in the all-time regular season series.

*Stats compiled via for games played in the month of September from 2011-2012.

–Buffalo is the only team through Week Two to have held their opponents to zero sacks, marking the second time in team history the Bills have not allowed a sack (1980) in the first two games of a season. If the Bills hold the Browns to zero sacks on Sunday, it will mark the first time in team history the Bills have held their opponents to zero sacks through Week Three and become the seventh NFL team since the 1970 merger that a team has held their opponents to zero sacks in the first three games of a season, first since 2005 (Indianapolis). (Elias Stats Bureau)

–Buffalo’s offense leads the NFL with an average of 35.2 points per game in the month of September in games played from 2011-2012.

–Buffalo has scored 23 touchdowns in games played in September from 2011-2012, four more than any other NFL team.

–QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s 14 touchdown passes are tied for the most with Tom Brady in September (2011-2012) and his 98.1 QB rating is sixth-best (all minimum 100 passing attempts).

On if the defensive line’s performance against Kansas City is what he envisioned:
Absolutely. That is where we want to get to. We want to win on both sides of the line and win the line of scrimmage. I am speaking for Chan, but really that is what we talk about. If we get to the point where we can do that, we will have a chance in every game.

The Bills fell behind Indianapolis, 26-0, at Rich Stadium, and then staged an incredible comeback to take a thrilling 37-35 victory. It ranked as the second-biggest comeback in NFL regular-season history.
