BDC 11/28: Gift of Warmth Campaign Kicks Off

Posted by Bills Daily Charge on November 28, 2012 – 10:54 am

–The Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has signed DE Corbin Bryant to the Practice Squad. Bryant fills the team’s open practice squad slot as DB Delano Howell was signed to the 53-man roster of the Indianapolis Colts.

Bryant entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Pittsburgh in 2011. The 6-4, 300-pound Northwestern product spent portions of the 2011 and 2012 seasons on the Steelers’ Practice Squad and 53-man roster. Bryant started 35 of 47 games played at Northwestern and recorded 89 tackles, 19.5 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks.

–To help combat another cold Western New York winter, the Buffalo Bills, M&T Bank and the Salvation Army have launched the collection of new jackets, hats, gloves, and any other warm clothing for the Gift of Warmth – an annual drive to ensure area residents have the protection they need from the winter elements. For those who’d like to help make a difference, there will be an opportunity Sunday, December 2nd, at the “Gift of Warmth Game Day Collection” prior to kick-off against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Volunteers will be collecting new winter clothing to be distributed to those in need in time for the holiday season. More information can be found on

The Bills defeated the New England Patriots in Orchard Park, NY 17-7, to record their 100th victory of the 1990s, making them just the 6th team to do so. Buffalo finished the decade with an AFC best 103-57.

DE Mario Williams
Q: Can you describe the mood of the team today?
A: Definitely we are anxious to get back out there. No matter what, good or bad whatever the record is, it is just a new week. You have to go out there and you have to work. You have to get after it. You have to keep your morale and your mental state high regardless of what happens.

Eight Bills players visited Theodore Roosevelt Elementary in Cheektowaga, NY yesterday to honor its selection as the Buffalo Bills PLAY 60 Super School. The players presented the school with a $10,000 grant for health and wellness programming and spent time with each of the school’s 2nd graders in seven different activity stations set up throughout the gymnasium.

Bills P Shawn Powell, CB Stephon Gilmore, S Da’Norris Searcy and DE Kyle Moore visited the Salvation Army in Downtown Buffalo to help kick off the Gift of Warmth program sponsored by M&T Bank. The players helped children decorate picture frames and make fleece pillows. Searcy, the Gift of Warmth spokesman, helped kick off the donation process by contributing 25 new winter coats.
