BDC 12/12: DT Ross Added to 53-Man Roster

Posted by Bills Daily Charge on December 12, 2012 – 9:58 am

The Buffalo Bills announced yesterday that the team has promoted DT Jay Ross to the 53-man roster and RB Fred Jackson has been placed on Injured Reserve. Ross spent portions of the 2011 and 2012 season on the team’s Practice Squad and 53-man roster. The Bills also announced that the team has signed RB Zach Brown to the Practice Squad. Brown re-joins Buffalo after spending the 2012 training camp with the team.

Head coach Marv Levy became the Bills’ all-time winningest coach (71 wins) as Buffalo defeated the Denver Broncos, 27-17, at Rich Stadium. Safety Mark Kelso tied a team-record with three interceptions. The “12th Man” (The Bills’ fans) was inducted onto Buffalo’s Wall of Fame.

Head Coach Chan Gailey
Q: Do you have to start thinking about giving S Da’Norris Searcy maybe more time?
A: (George Wilson and him) are splitting time. He is doing well and George is doing really good things too. You would have liked for him to catch one of those two (Sunday) and that would have helped us win a ball game, but he is in the right place and doing a lot of good things. So it is not like you are sitting there saying ‘This guy is really good and this guy is not really good. Why are we not playing the guy that is really good?’ They are both playing well and it got a little bit out of whack because George was in there for the entire last drive which was a lot of plays. They are splitting time in there otherwise.

Bills players participated in an interactive fitness event in the Buffalo Bills Healthy Zone Fieldhosue yesterday with 350 Buffalo Public School, Orchard Park Elementary School and East Aurora Middle School students. Players spoke to the students in attendance about the importance of healthy living and will provide tips for how to eat right and stay active before joining the children in physical activity stations including Gatorade Junior Football Camp and Gatorade Drinking Stations.
