Middle round QB liked by Kiper
Posted by on February 15, 2013 – 9:30 amWe know all the quarterback prospect names that have been frequently tossed around over the past month. Names like Barkley, Smith, Nassib, Wilson and Glennon have made for a muddled group at the top of the class. But ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper has a signal caller he likes come the fifth round that he compares to Matt Hasselbeck or Matt Schaub.
“Another quarterback I like is Sean Renfree out of Duke,” said Kiper. “I like the fact that he has size, I like his arm. I like that he was with David Cutcliffe for five years. He tutored Peyton and Eli Manning and is known as a quarterback guru. Renfree took Duke to a bowl game for the first time since 1994, Renfree did. He’s a Matt Hasselback, Matt Schaub type to me so I like Renfree in the fifth round area.”
Renfree for his career passed for 9,465 yards completing 64.6% of his passes with 50 TDs and 40 INTs.
