FSU DE Carradine to hold own workout

Posted by Chris Brown on March 19, 2013 – 12:42 pm

It’s the Florida State pro day today, where QB E.J. Manuel will be throwing later this afternoon. His teammate DE Tank Carradine is doing some work on the Tallahassee campus despite coming off an ACL knee injury suffered this past November.

Carradine, who lined up at end opposite first-round projection DE Bjoern Werner, could not participate at the NFL Combine. Though he’s gone through a few positional drills he’s not ready to work out four months removed from surgery. The only thing he did was the bench press putting up 32 reps.

The defensive end, who put up 11 sacks in 2012, said he’ll have his own personal pro day a week before the NFL draft to give himself as much time as possible to recover.

Carradine has been working with the same physical therapists and doctors that worked with Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson in his recovery from ACL surgery.

Some NFL clubs reportedly considered him a first-round prospect before the injury. Where he winds up now may have a lot to do with how he looks at his personal pro day in a month.

One of Carradine’s teammates is in a similar situation. Fellow DE/OLB Brandon Jenkins is trying to return from a Lis franc foot injury and doesn’t look 100 percent on the field today.
