Bills pass rusher Mario Williams is not an easy man to impress, but through the first two weeks of OTAs rookie MLB Kiko Alonso has come very close in doing just that with the veteran defensive lineman.
Williams, who appeared on the John Murphy Show Wednesday, said Alonso reminds him a bit of a former Houston teammate, linebacker Brian Cushing.
“I’m not saying he is because he’s a lot smaller, but he reminds me of Brian Cushing,” said Williams. “The kid has instincts like him. He sees it and goes. He’s looking very good. I said in the meeting the other day that this kid is pretty good.
“Now Cush is different. He’s just a different animal, but with Kiko coming in he resembles some of the things that Cushing does.”
Certainly high praise for a rookie that has spent all of two weeks on the field with Williams. If Alonso proves to be that good it will certainly bode well for Buffalo’s defense.
