Former Bill Dave Costa passes

Posted by Chris Brown on May 30, 2013 – 4:23 pm

It’s been reported that former Bills defensive lineman Dave Costa unfortunately passed away late last week. Costa was 71.

A Lou Saban favorite, Costa played for the Bills in 1966 and then again in his final NFL season in 1974. He also played for Saban while he was head coach of the Denver Broncos.

Costa, who played for 12 seasons also played for the Raiders and the Chargers. A Rookie of the Year runner-up in 1963 with Oakland, Costa was also a four-time AFL All-Star, with three of those All-Star nods coming during his time with the Broncos.

The Bills organization passes along their condolences to the Costa family.
