He may not know how the depth chart falls at cornerback at this point knowing his players haven’t put the pads on yet, but judging from the spring practices, Bills head coach Doug Marrone likes the mix of talent on the roster at cornerback.
“I am (satisfied) with the depth there,” Marrone told Buffalobills.com. “I think we have competition there. I think Stephon Gilmore had a great spring camp. He’s done a really nice job. I’m looking forward to seeing who that third or fourth corner is. I’m looking
forward to Leodis coming back.”
Marrone and his defensive staff seem comfortable in letting the competition play itself out in training camp for the third and fourth cornerback roles on the squad. Size is what is needed on the outside beyond Gilmore and McKelvin. As we profiled on Buffalobills.com today, Crezdon Butler and T.J. Heath are two younger corners that have played in the league and offer size with both at six-foot.
