Bills TE Scott Chandler had a very encouraging first day back on the practice since he tore his ACL last December. From the time he had surgery Chandler had an eye on training camp for his return.
“I always wanted to be ready for the first game,” Chandler said. “If I could be ready for training camp, I thought I would be better in the first game. That’s what I’m looking towards. I want to be as good as I can when we play the Patriots (in Week One).”
Head coach Doug Marrone said Chandler’s workload was scaled back a bit, but for Chandler who had done nothing all spring it felt like a lot.
“This is the most I’ve done in a while,” he said. “This is the first time that I have gotten my hands on somebody and blocked them, and the first time I’ve run a route against somebody. But it felt good. It’s what I expected and hopefully I can get out here and continue to build on that.”
