NFL Net analyst says Bills camp more physical than Jets
Posted by on July 31, 2013 – 4:45 pmNFL Network analyst Heath Evans was one of several national NFL reporters who made a visit to Bills camp in Pittsford this week. And the former fullback for the Dolphins, Patriots, and Saints says after visiting the Bills and Jets camp on back to back days, there’s no question which camp features more physical play.
Appearing on The John Murphy Show Tuesday night, Evans said he was in the Jets camp watching practice Monday, and then watched the Bills work out Tuesday morning.
“The physical tempo was totally different here, you guys get the edge there,” Evans said on the radio show. “The physical prowess of the team was totally different.”
“I didn’t hear any pads popping at all at the Jets camp,” Evans told host John Murphy. “Here at Bills camp, I heard Coach Marrone yelling, ‘Stay off the ground, stay off the ground,’ because guys are getting too physical for the first day of pads. You’d much rather have your team too physical as opposed to too soft.”
