It’s not quite a lock, but with the Bills planning to start undrafted rookie QB Jeff Tuel Week 1 against the Patriots, Buffalo’s other rookie signal caller would be starting opposite one of his quarterback idols growing up.
“I don’t think strange is the right word because I came here to play football and that’s what I’m doing,” said Tuel of his opportunity to play in the season opener for Buffalo. “Anybody that comes to a team and says they want to sit on the bench is wrong. That’s not what I came here to do. I came here to play whether that was going to be four years down the road, one year or this year I was ready for it. It’s just a true blessing and I thank God for the opportunity. It’ll be a lot of fun to line up opposite a childhood idol like Tom Brady.”
