Last night, the Bills Toyota Rookie Club hosted their first event of the season, inviting members from Carly’s Club at Roswell Park to the Bills Healthy Zone Fieldhouse for a carnival.
Carly’s Club of Buffalo is the pediatric cancer unit of Roswell Park, offering support programs to help life become more manageable for children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Part of last night’s group was longtime Bills fan, 17-year-old Derek Marsh, who attended Sunday’s game. Derek has been a Roswell patient for the past 3 years, and was given the opportunity to deliver the gameball before Sunday’s kickoff by Bills partner Republic Services.
“It’s an amazing experience to be down here with all the players. It makes me feel really special to be here,” Derek told buffalobills.com.
Derek and his family enjoyed watching player warmups prior to the Bills 24-23 win over the Carolina Panthers. The fun continued last night when Derek was able to meet all Bills rookies during the Carly’s Club visit.
