Jairus Byrd was again a limited participant in practice as his double plantar fasciitis continues to hamper his mobility. The safety was asked if he feels his feet are improving.
“Yeah hopefully,” he said. “I’ve been saying since day one that I’m going out there and getting treatment and seeing where I’m at each day. I’m going through all the movements and seeing how I feel, if it’s fine the next day, things like that.”
Byrd played through a similar foot problem last season, but explained why the circumstances were different.
“It was an issue last year,” he said. “I was told it was going to get healthy and it just didn’t in time. I had it in the offseason it didn’t get healthy and it is what it is. It’s just there so it’s something that needs to get healthy, get right. The more you’re out there on it on your feet, the more you need to get it right.”
Byrd was listed as questionable for last Sunday’s game, a step up in designation from the previous two weeks, but he knew when he woke up Sunday that his ailing feet were not going to cooperate.
“It just wasn’t ready to go,” he said.
