Bills WR Marquise Goodwin has been working his way back into the practice setting the past couple of weeks as he returns from a broken hand. The one missing element of his workload the past couple of weeks was catching passes. That changed on Tuesday.
Goodwin caught passes during individual position drills and in offensive passing drills. It’s seemingly the final hurdle, but after being out of the practice setting for three weeks and entering a shortened practice week Bills head coach Doug Marrone didn’t sound as if he’s ready to press Goodwin back into the lineup this week.
“He looks good,” said Marrone of Goodwin. “I think it’s really two days that he’s been catching, so we’re still going to be sure that he’s progressing along.”
Having only been catching footballs for two days, it sounds more likely that Goodwin and the club elect to get him ready to make his return to the lineup in Week 6 against Cincinnati. His final status for Thursday night’s game will be made late Wednesday.
