Where Bills want to tighten up on offense

Posted by Chris Brown on October 2, 2013 – 11:00 am

For the Bills on offense third down has been a persistent issue with respect to conversions. Stevie Johnson believes they can get that remedied.

“I think we’ve got to get first downs so we can extend these drives,” said Johnson. “That way we can have more time on the field with each other on Thursday night. Our rush game has been very good and very effective for us. The passing game can be better. I think when we click, we’re good to go, but we need more drives that’s more than four or five plays so we can get that feel for each other.”

Johnson is talking about offensive rhythm being a byproduct of more plays on a scoring drive. Buffalo ranks 22nd in the league in average number of plays on scoring drives at 7.29 plays.
