BDC 10/11: Ralph Wilson, Jr. Guarantees Sellout

Posted by Bills Daily Charge on October 11, 2013 – 1:21 pm

— The Buffalo Bills and Owner Ralph Wilson, Jr. have guaranteed a sellout of this Sunday’s game versus the Cincinnati Bengals at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The game, presented by ECMC, will be televised locally. “Mr. Wilson has generously guaranteed the purchase of the remaining tickets for this weekend’s game,” said Bills President and CEO Russ Brandon.  “Through their energy and enthusiasm, our fans create an unparalleled home field advantage.  It’s great to share that experience with the entire region.”  Tickets will remain available for fan purchase through gametime on Sunday. The Bills encourage fans interested in attending the game to purchase tickets at, or by calling 1-877-BB-TICKS (1-877-4257).

— The Buffalo Bills; ECMC; ECMC Lifeline Foundation; American Cancer Society; Canadian Cancer Society; Hard Rock Cafe Niagara Falls, USA; and KISS 98.5 will host the eighth-annual Billieve event in Niagara Falls, NY on Friday night as part of the NFL’s month-long initiative to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. To get the evening started, participants, Buffalo Bills players and their families will walk from the Hard Rock Café to the Rainbow Bridge where they will form the International PINKTOBER Living Ribbon, stretching from Niagara Falls, NY to Niagara Falls, Ont. – uniting two nations in the battle against breast cancer. While on the bridge, Niagara Falls will be illuminated pink to raise further awareness. Nicholas Picholas of KISS 98.5 will serve as the event emcee. Media availability with select players and ECMC CEO Jody Lomeo will take place at 6:00 PM.

Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson, Jr. has guaranteed the purchase of all remaining tickets for Sunday’s game against the Bengals. It will not be blacked out. For a minimum $20 donation to breast cancer awareness, tickets are available at select NOCO locations in Buffalo. Donation locations can be found by clicking here.

RUSS BRANDON, Buffalo Bills Head Coach on Kiss 98.5
Q: We’re lighting the bridge, Niagara Falls is going to be pink tonight and after the Living Ribbon and everything, everyone just needs to know that this game will be sold out, so how many tickets remain?
A: Well we had some tickets that were remaining, but I’m pleased to announce that the game will be on TV, not blacked out. Thanks to the generosity, the continued generosity of Mr. Wilson. He has guaranteed to purchase the remaining tickets for the game, so the game will be on TV and out there for everyone to enjoy.

Q: So Ralph Wilson has bought these tickets up, how does that
conversation go? You call him up and say what?
A: Mr. Wilson and I talk every day and he wanted to know the status of where we were. We updated him and he was happy to pick up the remaining tickets. We were close and to ensure the game was on, obviously it’s a huge weekend for us with the Breast cancer Awareness month and everything that is going on tonight with the lighting of the Falls and all the festivities that kick off around 5:30. We’ve got a lot going on Sunday, the breast cancer survivors will be in the pregame, we’ve got a bunch of pink gear in the Bills store, so we’ve got a lot of cool things going on. Mr. Wilson wanted to ensure that the game was on for everyone to enjoy. We’ve had great crowds here in the first few weeks and great support and we’re going to need our fans in a big way on Sunday because the home field advantage has been huge for us this year.
