Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles leads the league in all-purpose yards with just over 1,000 on the season. He leads the Chiefs in rushing and receptions. I asked head coach Doug Marrone if having a focal point like Charles, who represents so much of the Chiefs offense makes them easier to defend. Here was his answer.
“It’s one of those things you’ve got to be careful because they can get big plays going the other way,” Marrone told Buffalobills.com. “But again you have to get a lot of players around him. He does a great job out of the backfield receiving. He’s leading them in receiving and he’s a great runner and he’s explosive. You’ve got to make sure when he’s on the field that you have a lot of people around him.”
Charles has been limited in practice this week with a knee injury.
