There were a lot of deficiencies in Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers, but one of the more noticeable problems were the 11 penalties Buffalo was flagged for. Not all of them were legit by any means, but it’s not an issue Doug Marrone was going to explain away with poor officiating.
“It’s very difficult for me to say they’re focused when you have 11 penalties,” he said.
So when asked what’s needed, Marrone went back to the two things that have eluded the Bills for most of the season, accountability and consistency.
“Making each other accountable, that’s making plays and playing every single down and putting the players in the best position and making sure that they go out there to play football, highly motivated, highly ready to go, high level of focus,” he said.
