QUOTE OF THE DAY
Fred Jackon, Buffalo Bills Running Back on WGR 550
On what the Bills need to do to get to the playoffs in 2014:
“The number one thing if you look at all the teams that are in the playoffs right now is the guy that is leading them, the quarterback. You get quarterback play like that; it gives you a better opportunity to get there. I think we’ll have a guy that can be like that in EJ (Manuel). He just has to get better and more consistent, healthy, on the field and give himself some time to grow in to the position. Outside of that, we just have to be more consistent in everything we do. We have to be better on offense when it comes to, we were second in the league in rushing, but there were games where we put up like 60 yards rushing. As a rushing attack we have to be better than that. We have to be consistently better in that and that will take some pressure off EJ. On defense there were times we played lights out, creating turnovers every time they stepped on the field, holding opponent’s offenses under 300 yards total offense. If they can consistently do that it gives us better chances to win football games. It’s just things like that we have to be able to do to. Once we get that accomplished, we’ll be in the playoffs.”
