Washington TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was all set to compete on the field here at the NFL Combine on Saturday, but was not given that opportunity as the league would not medically clear him.
Seferian-Jenkins tried to shed some light on his situation, but would not divulge his condition. In an interview with the NFL Network he said the following.
“I’m fine. I didn’t get cleared medically for whatever issues and I can’t compete today and that’s unfortunate because everyone has been working really hard to prepare for this,” said Seferian-Jenkins. “That’s what I’ve been doing getting prepared for this and dropping some weight and getting in the best shape of my life.”
UPDATE: CBSSports.com is reporting that Seferian-Jenkins problem is a pre-existing foot condition.
At this point Seferian-Jenkins isn’t even sure he can perform at the University of Washington pro day later this spring.
“I’m good, but I don’t know about pro day yet,” he said. “My pro day is April 2nd. You’ll have to check with my agent.”
