This August will mark the first time since 2005 that the Bills will practice and scrimmage against another NFL club in the training camp setting. We covered the ways in which such an arrangement could be most beneficial to the Bills in our latest Camp Countdown installment. Doug Marrone is hoping to make it an annual thing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“We’ve talked about it,” said Marrone. “We’ve talked about the schedule of what we’re going to do, when we practice together. Russ Brandon brought that to the attention of the league. We’d like to make sure we can get them on the (preseason) schedule, if we have them in the preseason we’ll alternate every year. This year we’ll go there. The following year they’ll come up to St John Fisher and we’ll go back and forth. I think it could be a very good working relationship for both teams.”
Buffalo will be practicing at Steelers camp in Latrobe, PA on Aug. 13 & 14 before squaring off against Pittsburgh for their third preseason game on Aug. 16 at Heinz Field.
