Long-time ESPN talent evaluator Mel Kiper Jr., along with ESPN Insider columnist Mike Sando, ranked the top 25 NFL players under the age of 25 heading into the 2014 season, with Pro Bowler Marcell Dareus coming in at No. 25.
Here’s part of what Kiper had to say about the 24-year-old defensive tackle:
Dareus is a little bit like Gordon and Aldon Smith in that he’d rank much higher without all the off-field concerns raising questions about his maturity and long-term prospects. PFF graded Dareus as the sixth-best interior defensive lineman last season, giving him high marks against run and pass alike.
Fellow Bills CB Stephon Gilmore and T Cordy Glenn were listed in the ‘Also Considered’ category.
Indianapolis QB Andrew Luck ranked No. 1 on the list.
