ESPN’s award-winning prime time newsmagazine E:60 will present the touching story of the relationship between wide receiver Marquise Goodwin and his younger sister in the episode airing Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 8 p.m. ET.
Goodwin is one of the fastest men in the NFL. He is also a world-class long jumper who represented the USA at the 2012 London Olympics. But ask Goodwin why he considers himself gifted and it is more than likely his answer will not be about athletic ability: Goodwin will want to talk about his little sister, Deja.
Born with cerebral palsy, Deja is confined to a wheelchair and requires around-the-clock care, but that has not stopped Marquis and Deja from forming an incredibly close relationship. The relationship has endured through his time at the University of Texas, the Olympics, and now into an NFL career. In fact, Goodwin tells reporter Lisa Salters that everything he has achieved – on the track and on the field – has been because of Deja.
