Bills head coach Doug Marrone did not make an easy decision this week in electing to insert QB Kyle Orton into the lineup for this Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. In seeking better production at quarterback, it effectively delivered a message to the other 10 starters on offense.
“Again we just need everyone to do a good job on offense,” Marrone told Buffalobills.com. “When you make a change like that at the quarterback position it creates a great awareness for everyone else around him that, ‘Hey if the coach can do it at that position, it’s a whole lot easier for him to do it at another position.’ Really the increase in production is not just one person, so we all have to pick it up on offense.”
Marrone is hoping his tough call earlier this week will put every starter on offense on notice and motivate them further to do more for the success of the unit.
