Inside The Bills

For those who have been wondering just how Stephon Gilmore has been performing of late, the answer is pretty darn good. His receiver assignments have not done much at all the last several weeks, and it was much of the same this past Sunday. That’s why Gilmore’s play earned him an All-Star nod from Pro Football Focus for his Week 10 performance.

Each week the stat crunching site puts out an All-Star offense and defense of top performers from that slate of games. Gilmore’s play against the Chiefs made him one of the top two performing cornerbacks. Here’s what they wrote.

Cornerbacks: Chris Harris Jr., DEN (+3.4) and Stephon Gilmore, BUF (+3.1)
Harris continues to play at an impressively high level, not even considering that he’s coming off a knee injury. This week he allowed a mere 8 yards on four completions in his coverage. Gilmore had similar success, giving up just 38 yards from 37 snaps in coverage.
Honorable Mentions: Patrick Peterson, ARZ and Ron Parker, KC
Gilmore hasn’t only been doing well in pass coverage. According to Pro Football Focus he ranks seventh in the league among cornerbacks in run stop percentage, which is a run play that’s deemed a loss for the offense in which the cornerback is a factor.
