With a lot of the roads in and around Orchard Park not passable for cars some Bills players had to take alternate measures to get to One Bills Drive for a bus that was departing for the airport to fly the team to Detroit so they could begin practicing at the Lions training facility Friday evening in advance of Monday night’s game against the Jets at Ford Field. TE Scott Chandler was one of a handful of players who got a lift on a snowmobile.
“Yeah that was pretty interesting,” said Chandler, who goes 6-7 and weighs 265 pounds. “There was a guy who just lived around the corner. We kind of flagged him down and he was willing to help us out. There were a lot of Bills fans out there who were willing to do that kind of thing. I know we had guys go in there and plow our streets so our wives if they need to can get out too. So there were a lot of good Samaritans around Buffalo. It’s part of what makes it such a great community.”
With another short work week, the Bills had a lot of pent up energy out on the practice field Friday night as most of them were cooped up in their house the last three days.
