Nearly 200 students and teachers from Western NY were on hand at the ADPRO Sports Training Center on Tuesday for the annual Fuel Up to Play 60 “Be the Change” forum. The students, from Orchard Park, Niagara Falls, Grand Island, Buffalo City, Rochester City and Rush Henrietta Schools, were joined by Running Back C.J. Spiller, Bills’ Nutritionist Dan Liburd and dairy farmer Jason Kehl, from Strykersville NY.
Students gathered to learn how healthy eating and physical activity can benefit them not just in school but for a lifetime. It’s all a part of Fuel Up to Play 60, a national partnership between the National Football League and the American Dairy Association, to encourage students to eat healthy foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains, and low fat and fat free dairy products) and exercise 60 minutes daily. The participants also received leadership and communication training to help find their voice in order to drive healthy change within their schools.
