In an appearance on the John Murphy Show this week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl, Bills GM Doug Whaley was asked whether the interior of Buffalo’s offensive line was a priority to address this offseason.
Whaley has stated previously that they’re going to take a long look at their offensive line this offseason, but he also did not want to dismiss some of the talent they already have in house.
“Some would say that (it’s a priority), but we’re thinking when you get Chris Williams back from injury and another year with (Cyril) Richardson in there and get him more time in there and (Cyrus) Kouandjio played a little guard in there during the season in the practices,” Whaley said. “We think there are some guys there who can compete, but that’s not to say we won’t bring in other guys to add to the fold.”
With Erik Pears a free agent and youth on the roster in the form of Kouandjio and Richardson it wouldn’t be surprising if a veteran free agent guard was added to Buffalo’s ranks.
