Bills special teams ace Marcus Easley has led the team in special teams tackles each of the past two seasons. He did it this past year despite missing six games due to a knee injury. Easley however, is an unrestricted free agent. With the dramatic increase in play on special teams in 2014 Buffalo wants to keep a key component of their coverage units in the fold.
“We’d like to get him back. That’s another thing that (Senior VP of Football Administration) Jim Overdorf is going to work on this week,” said Bills GM Doug Whaley. “He’s a hell of a special teams player and we’re excited and we hopefully can get him back.”
After going from 30th to 2nd in the NFL in overall special teams from 2013 to 2014 the team clearly sees Easley as a key piece to staying near the top of the league in special teams play.
