Marcell Dareus is entering the final year of his contract in 2015. Buffalo picked up the fifth-year option on his rookie contract last year. But GM Doug Whaley said that the team intends to work on a contract extension for the Pro Bowl defensive tackle, just not right now.
Whaley said an extension for Dareus is a high priority, but the club needs to address their current free agents to be first and make some additions in free agency.
“After we get done with all the unrestricted (free agents) and all we have to do this offseason then we would start to broach that subject,” said Whaley.
Dareus is coming off a career-high 10 sack season in 2014.
