Bills newest QB Tyrod Taylor is will have a familiar face in the quarterback room come spring practices. That’s because he and EJ Manuel hail from the same area of their native Virginia.
“We went to a couple of camps together growing up,” Taylor told Buffalobills.com. “His parents know my parents. We’re pretty close. We’ve kept up with each other since high school. I’ve talked to him throughout his time being here with the Bills. I’m looking forward to working alongside him. I’m sure he’s looking forward to it as well. We’re going to compete and push each other to be better.”
Taylor, who is a year older than Manuel, grew up in Hampton, Virginia, while Manuel grew up in Virginia Beach. Their two towns are about a half-hour drive away from one another.
Taylor also knows one of Buffalo’s free agent visitors from childhood.
“I know Percy too, so hopefully we can get him in here,” said Taylor.
Percy Harvin grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, another half hour away from Manuel and Taylor.
