Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman has heard the widespread speculation, which was soon taken as fact in cyberspace Monday, that EJ Manuel isn’t long for Buffalo’s roster if he doesn’t show marked improvement this season. Roman dismissed the contention as just that, speculation.
“Speculation is the key word there. I don’t ever remember saying that,” said Roman. “And that’s the furthest thing from the truth. He’s busting his hump every day and doing a very good job. There’s a lot of clay to mold there. Whatever people are talking about, I don’t know where that’s coming from. The answer is no. He’s doing a good job.”
Roman maintained that the quarterback competition will be a three-man race between Manuel, Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor.
