While everyone was preoccupied with LeSean McCoy’s reaction to being traded to the Bills this offseason, no one took the time to get Fred Jackson’s reaction to the addition of a top flight back to Buffalo’s roster. Jackson shared what his reaction was at the time on Tuesday.
In an interview with Bills flagship station WGR Sportradio 550 Tuesday morning, Jackson provided what his feelings were when he first heard the news.
“To me it is what it is. I’ve been here with Marshawn Lynch, a tremendous runner, C.J. Spiller and explosive guy himself. For me it was something that I expected to happen,” Jackson said. “I expected them to try to cover their bases and bring in a guy they could use and it was LeSean.
“So for me it’s just about taking advantage of the opportunities that I get. I don’t know exactly what my role is going to be. I know they want LeSean to get up to 300 carries this year. That’s a guy you’re feeding the ball all the time, but I’ll be ready when my number is called. For me I just want to win football games. I’ll do whatever I can to help do that.”
