Bills newest QB Matt Simms has familiar faces on the coaching staff in Rex Ryan and quarterbacks coach David Lee, who he worked with in New York with the Jets. There’s also Percy Harvin, who was on the Jets roster last season. But there’s another fellow New Jersey native that he’s all too familiar with in Buffalo’s locker room.
Bills WR Chris Hogan grew up one town over from Simms, and the two have worked together in the offseason the last few years.
“He grew up in Wyckoff, New Jersey and I’m from Franklin Lakes and both those towns connect into the same high school,” said Simms. “I went to Don Bosco Prep and he went to Ramapo the public school. We’ve always been around each other training in the offseason together. It’s funny how this small world works as teammates up here now in Buffalo.”
“He’s got a really good arm and can make all the throws,” Hogan told Buffalobills.com. “I’ve worked with him a few times in the offseason and he can really spin it. He doesn’t mind bad weather, wind, it doesn’t matter with that arm he’s got.”
