Bills TE Charles Clay got a big contract as Buffalo was able to pry him away from division rival Miami this offseason. A former sixth-round pick, Clay is in new territory with a fat contract. However, the versatile tight end maintains that the way he plays will be unaffected by a big money deal.
“It doesn’t register at all,” Clay told Buffalobills.com. “When I step on the field that’s the last thing on my mind. I step out there every day and my main goal is trying to get better at some part of my game every single day. Money isn’t an isuse. I don’t even think about that once I step on the field. I’m going to go out there and lay it on the line and afterwards we’ll see where I’m at.”
Clay insists his motivation stems from wanting to be the best, not a big contract.
