The Bills defense flashed a lot when it came to putting pressure on their quarterbacks in the blue-white scrimmage Saturday night, but their run defense was pretty good as well.
Sure the offense got a couple of quality gains through the course of the 18 series between the offensive and defensive units. But through the course of the night Buffalo’s defense had 11 tackles for loss and one for no gain on run plays.
“Yeah pretty much that was the thing we wanted to come out and do, definitely stop the run,” said Nigel Bradham, who had a tackle for a five-yard loss on LeSean McCoy. “I mean we knew they had a great running back, obviously, we face him every day. But the main thing was stop the run, get a good feel of tackling and everything, fundamentals and just playing together.”
Some of the other Bills in on tackles for loss on run plays were Andre Fluellen, who had two, Ty Powell, Jimmy Gaines, Jerry Hughes and Tony Steward.
