The New York Jets could be without one of their top cornerbacks in addition to losing their starting right guard for the rest of the season. Willie Colon was placed on injured reserve with his knee injury, with the team activating CB Dee Milliner off short term injured reserve. Starting CB Antonio Cromartie however, is doubtful for Thursday’s game against Buffalo.
Cromartie has a deep thigh contusion, and knowing a cornerback plays most of the game in reverse, driving off that quad muscle is critical to Cromartie’s play. If it’s not better Thursday evening he’ll be inactive. He did not practice Wednesday.
Two other defensive backs are out as safeties Dion Bailey and Calvin Pryor have ankle injuries that will keep them sidelined Thursday night. Fellow DB Buster Skrine is also questionable with shoulder and hand injuries. Marcus Gilchrist is expected to fill the void at the starting safety position for New York.
Veteran Brian Winters is expected to start in Colon’s place.
