Sammy Watkins will be at the National Championship game tonight between Alabama and his alma mater Clemson in Glendale, Arizona. Watkins appeared on ESPN2’s First Take and provided his thoughts on the matchup tonight.
“It’s a big game not only for our team, but for the alumni and the fans,” Watkins said. “We’ve just got to go out there and be consistent and just give them a match and fight. That’s what the game is about. At the end of the day there’s going to be a lot of talk and everyone has their predictions, but nobody will know. It’s two great teams that’s one and two that’s in the national championship. Anything can happen.”
When asked for a prediction, Watkins naturally sided with his Tigers.
“I’ve got Clemson winning of course,” he said. “It’s going to be a tight game. I’ll say 24-17 Clemson.”
