ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported that Bills first-round pick Shaq Lawson would need to undergo shoulder surgery for the right shoulder injury that forced him to return to Indianapolis for the combine medical re-check. The man who has lived through the shoulder injury refuted that report Thursday night after the Bills made him a first-round pick.
“No, there is no truth to Adam Schefter’s report,” said Lawson. “The report about me having surgery I don’t know where that comes from. I guess he just wanted to put something out there. If I didn’t have surgery my freshman year why would I need surgery now? I can still play ball.”
The Bills medical staff cleared Lawson, who said he’s never had surgery for the injury he suffered freshman year.
“I never had surgery on it,” said Lawson. “I don’t know why it is coming up in question I am ready to play football. Having surgery is not in my question right now.”
