The Dolphins added another defensive end named Williams to their roster Wednesday. Miami announced they have been awarded defensive end Nick Williams off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs and have placed safety Reshad Jones on injured reserve.
Williams has played three seasons with the Chiefs (2014-16), appearing in 21 games with 14 tackles (nine solo). He played in five contests with the Chiefs this season, before he was waived on Tuesday. Williams originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (223rd overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2013 NFL draft.
Jones, a Pro Bowl safety, suffered a torn rotator cuff that will require season-ending surgery.
