Miami stadium renovations include new grass
Posted by on October 22, 2016 – 11:46 amMuch has been made of the Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium renovations, which will now put 92 percent of the seats in the shade thanks to a giant canopy. Previously just 17 percent of the seats were in the shade. Down on the field there are changes too.
The grass is new. It’s called Paspalum Platinum grass. The club made the change because it grows well in shade and in hot, humid climates. With the added shade provided by the canopies they claim they needed a more versatile grass surface. The grass is thicker than normal turf grasses, which players believe plays slower than regular grass.
