Dolphins CB Maxwell doubtful
Posted by on December 23, 2016 – 3:12 pmThere’s a good chance the Dolphins will be without their most experienced cornerback Saturday against the Bills.
CB Byron Maxwell failed to practice all week due to an ankle injury. Head coach Adam Gase didn’t rule out the possibility of him playing despite not practicing all week, but didn’t sound optimistic.
“Normally I feel pretty good about a guy that’s going out there – especially a veteran player – performing after not practicing all week,” said Gase. “We still need to figure out where he’s really at. I’m not going to put him out there unless I feel like he feels really good. I don’t want to have a setback. We’re still going through a process. Right now it’s just not … he hasn’t gotten as well as we thought he would this late in the week.”
LB Jelani Jenkins is also doubtful for the game, which means Neville Hewitt is the likely starter Saturday.
Here’s the Dolphins full injury report.
