6 Bills starters questionable

Posted by Chris Brown on December 14, 2012 – 1:05 pm

The list of Bills players that are 50-50 for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks is at nine including six starters.

Among the starters that are questionable are FS Jairus Byrd (shin), LB Nick Barnett (knee), DT Marcell Dareus (shoulder), DE Mark Anderson (knee), G Andy Levitre (knee), WR Donald Jones (calf).

Head coach Chan Gailey does believe that Barnett will be fine for Sunday’s game after he finally got back on the practice field Friday.

“He took a lot of reps and looked fine. I think he’ll be okay for the game,” said Gailey.

Other questionable players include CB Leodis McKelvin (groin), CB Justin Rogers (foot) and DL Spencer Johnson (ankle).

The players that look to be true game time decisions are Anderson, Jones and McKelvin.

WR Jones has setback with calf

Posted by Chris Brown on December 14, 2012 – 12:56 pm

Bills WR Donald Jones, who practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday was limited on Friday and is now questionable for Sunday’s game with the Seahawks.

Jones missed the Jacksonville game with a strained calf, and that injury resurfaced in practice Friday.

“It’s been bothering him off and on and he was limited. He didn’t get many reps today,” said head coach Chan Gailey after Friday’s practice. “We’ve got him as questionable.”

When asked if he’s optimistic for Jones’ chances of playing Sunday, Gailey didn’t want to commit.

“We’ll see. I don’t know,” said  It shows up and doesn’t show up. So we’ll see on Sunday.”

Posted by Chris Brown on December 7, 2012 – 1:10 pm

Stevie Johnson tops the list of players that are questionable for Sunday’s game against the Rams.

After practicing on just a limited basis Thursday and Friday, Johnson was listed as questionable, but head coach Chan Gailey did not sound concerned about his top receiver’s availability on Sunday against the Rams, though he did indicate that they’ll see how he is for Saturday’s walk through practice before making a final call.

“He did better,” said Gailey. “He did better today than he was yesterday. We’re going to see how he is tomorrow morning before we make the full decision.”

Johnson has assured all week that he will play Sunday.

Head coach Chan Gailey also said that Leodis McKelvin “is fine.” He’s expected to play Sunday despite being listed as questionable. Justin Rogers is considered to be in the same boat.

Here are the rest of Buffalo’s questionable players for Sunday’s game.

WR Stevie Johnson – hamstring
CB Justin Rogers – foot

Chan still hopeful for Chandler

Posted by Chris Brown on December 22, 2011 – 1:08 pm

Bills TE Scott Chandler is still moving gingerly on his badly sprained ankle suffered two weeks ago in practice, but he got through a second straight day giving head coach Chan Gailey hope that he’ll be able to go come Saturday.

“Chandler was limited, but he looked good,” said Gailey. “I think we’ve got a decent chance to have Scott this week.”

Johnson has insisted he’ll be fine to play on Saturday as well though he too was limited again on Thursday.

Johnny White (concussion) and Ruvell Martin (hamstring) are not looking good for Saturday’s game after missing practice again on Thursday.
